Life is hectic, and sometimes it’s all too easy to let a missed dental check-up turn into two or three. Before you know it, it’s been years since you sat in the dentist’s chair and now you have no idea how to get your oral health back on track. Let us help you take the first step.

You’re not alone
The first thing to realise is that you’re far from alone – nearly half of adults in the UK have not been to see a dentist over the past 24 months. At Park Dental Care, we see all types of clients, including those with severe dental anxiety who haven’t been to the dentist in many years. Whatever your situation, there is no need to feel ashamed or embarrassed – we treat all our clients with patience, compassion, and respect.

Managing your fears
If dental anxiety is the reason you’ve been avoiding regular check-ups, we are confident we can help. Many of our clients with severe dental phobia are able to undergo the treatment they need with sedation. This is a safe and reliable procedure that involves taking medication to reduce anxiety and induce a dream-like state of partial consciousness while in the dentist’s chair. We will be happy to discuss this option with you during an initial visit to the practice.
You may also find it comforting to take a virtual tour of our practice before making an appointment. If you haven’t visited the dentist in many years, you may have negative associations of stark waiting rooms and scary-looking equipment. The comfortable reception area at Park Dental Care is more like a living room than a medical facility, and our friendly staff will ensure that you feel at home while you wait for your appointment.

What to expect during your first visit
Professionally, we recommend a thorough oral examination, including x-rays to make sure there are no underlying oral health issues. We do understand, that you may not be ready to book an appointment with a dentist and welcome you to meet with a team-member to discuss your needs and concerns before committing to a dental assessment.
It is possible that you have a significant amount of plaque build-up on your teeth, so we’ll advise that you get professional help from one of our friendly hygienists, who will be able to give you tips on how to keep your oral health on track going forward. Following your examination, we will discuss any issues we have found and talk to you about possible treatment options.

Financial assistance
Should you need complicated dental work, it may be financially beneficial for you to join our practice membership plan. This will give you a 15% discount on dental treatments (excluding cosmetic or orthodontic treatment) and will hopefully motivate you to continue regular dental check-ups in the future.

If you have any questions about the services we offer at Park Dental Care one of our friendly team members will be happy to help you. Whether you just want to say hello and have a chat, or are ready to book a dental appointment, contact us today.
